Removing plastic pollution during the national Million Mile Clean Campaign

Plastic Pollution project Lincoln Canoe Club and The Collection and artist Nadya Monfrinol

Making artworks to raise awareness of plastic pollution collected from our cleanups. Thanks to The Collection and local artist Nadya Monfrinoli  for supporting us.

What do we do?

We are passionate about protecting the waters on which we love to paddle.

Our environment group cares for our local waters, removing plastic pollution, monitoring and removing Floating Pennywort and surveying for outfalls affecting water quality. We also have bigger club events when all members support national environmental campaigns.

We showcase our work in the local media and with stakeholders to raise awareness of the issues the River Witham and Fossdyke are facing and to seek policy change.

Our ultimate goal is healthy waters free from pollution and invasive species for everyone to enjoy the benefits of connecting with nature!

Who do we work with?

We are affiliated to British Canoeing and we support the Clear Access Clear Waters Campaign, championing the case for greater public access to water for recreation, to protect our environment from the threats of pollution and invasive species; And inspire others to try out paddling.

Partnership working helps us achieve our goal, we work with the Canal and Rivers Trust, Lincolnshire Rivers Trust, RiverCare and Plastic Free Lincoln (Surfers Against Sewage) to free our waters from plastic pollution, sewage pollution and invasive non-native species.
